is it possible to let the user define, if the coord system is y-up or z-up?
i'm working mostly in a z-up environment (revit, 3dsviz) and z-up would be definitly easier for my brain.

I don't think so, by the wat the actual system should be z-up, check your export process, maybe you should rotate during the exportation, this is the case with blender for instance.
