Maya export options, lights, camera settings?

Hey there, quick question regarding scene export to Octane.
I have played with the demo, but have yet to look at the supplied Maya export tool. Does it include options to control lighting, shading and kernel options?
I am interested in creating a one click solution from Maya with minimal input from users. I can see that you can fire off renders using command line options which could be scripted.
Using .obj export, would it be possible through an export script to create lights, shaders and kernel options with attributes/parameters that octane can read?
I read somewhere that .rib is potentially a future option for scene import, thoughts?
