Viewport issue - rendering wrong "view"

When I have one view open and set to the only camera (an Octane camera) and I render with view set to the same camera, and area-to-render set to view, and time output to “single”, how come I sometimes get a what appears to be a different frame than the one displayed in my viewport?

I think I figured it out. I think I broke the binding between my camera and its path through the building.
