Hello,

Guys please help. We can't choose .exr format from 3d package "C4d" via octane exporter plugin. We need to export animation from 3d package to octane. By default it's PNG sequence. We need 32 bit floating point depth for further compositing. We can't choose any file format from octane export plugin. Same in maya exporter, but Softimage exporter plugin have this function. Please guys help and sorry for my not perfect english:)

Thanks a lot,

Richard

The developer of the C4D exporter has left a while ago, and the EXR output was added after this. We are not able to solve this problem because we don't have the plugin code.

Over the past 2 months I've been developing a capability using Octane Render in my pipeline.
At this stage I would love to offer it up as a solution for an exciting upcoming job.
(It's even occurred to me how to get full subframe motion blur out of Octane via C4D, Yay!)

What's holding me back is the lack of support for untonemapped EXR's in animation projects.

Marcus,
I'm sure fully implementing this is on the todo list,
Is there any chance you could patch the current release to default to untonemapped EXR's?
as a temporary solution?

It's already done, it will be part of 0.12 of the exporter.

Cheers,
Marcus
