Tnx for comments. I rendered it on single gtx 460 with 2048 mb of ram.

Here is new render with few shader and light tweaks. Cooked it with PT for about 1:30h. Some postpro in PS.

Cheers,
n1k

it's that guy again, bet you he doesn't even realise how famous he is in the geek underworld..

the subsurface scattering looks OK, but the skin looks a bit dry, and you have to be careful then so it doesn't look plastic

Hi there, it looks nice, but it still looks a little chalky, not quite realistic to me. Yes, the transparency around the ear looks nice, but I personally don't get very excited about that, it's how it should make the skin in general look soft and vibrant and that's still missing with Octane's SSS.
I don't get enough of that wax-like texture. You should be able to overdo it and then bring it back to get a good balance, but I don't seem to get enough in the first place. But I'm still experimenting myself.
I don't think you can get realistic human skin without SSS, so this is extremely important and I've seen good results with for example Vray's SSS2 but not as yet with Octane, hopefully we'll get there soon.
