I am going to buy octane on may 13th 2012. Thats my birthday . will octane be complete by then? I really want it because its the best plus it is affordable (for a student) at the moment.

It is affordable because it's not a final, so you don't really want it to be final by your birthday. You shouldn't worry though because there's NO CHANCE Octane will reach final by May.

Hahaha, good point Proupin. Octane is probably 6-12 months away from their first official release.

I have been amazed how long it has been in beta (don't take this the wrong way). Its just that it is the most advanced render engine I have ever used. So much control. One thing that i would like to see is a color blind mode. It is hard for me to see the nodes out-in puts when the all look alike. Maybe different shaped would be nice. that so far is the one thing i find frustrating.

Funny, I said something like this to a newcomer about the same time last year...

But I have a good feeling for this year, so I agree with your statement!
