Hi

I am planing to buy this two cards the GT440 4GB GDDR3 and Asus GTX 570. The GT440 4GB GDDR3 is for the display and the Asus GTX 570 is for GPU rendering.

If I select the GT440 4GB GDDR3 for my display it means that the Software detects the 4gb of ram in my system?

Please help

Thanks
Chill

No, you have to disable gtx 440 for octane if you want to use it for display only.
If you use both cards for octane the the smallest VRAM is used by octane, in this case 1280 MB from GTX 570.
I have GTX 260 892 MB and GTX 550Ti 2GB.
If I use both cards for rendering I get a speed boost about 30-40 % but can use only 892 MB VRAM.
May be it is better to go for two GTX 560 /Ti 2 GB Vram and use one card for octane during setup your rendering and both cards for final rendering.
Two GTX 560 beats your GTX 570 easily and is even faster than a GTX 580.
You can also work good with octane with only one card, it lags sometimes a bit but you can work.
So may you can buy a good GTX 560Ti 2GB or a GTX 580 3 GB and add a second card later as I do wit a second GTX 550Ti or may be a GTX 560Ti 2 GB.

Cheers, mib.
