Hi, first, sorry for the bad english. I´m a 3ds max 2010 user, and i´m very interesting in buy a license of your software renderer, but many questions have in my head....the normal method process is model in 3ds max, but the textures (bump, displace..) is in max or octane? The lights? The cameras?....Thanks and sorry for my poor english.

Hi,
Yes, you export your model to OBJ and you do all your material and lighting setup in real-time in octane render.
We also have plugins for 3ds max that export camera information and animations.

You model in your software of choice (in your case max), setup textures (I just do a rough difuse setup but that's up to you), fit your uv maps, set a camera ( althou, as you'll see camera positioning is much easier and you'll get better shots in octane, but for a initial camera max will suit) and set a sun/light as needed, use the nice and friendly script for max (you can do it manually, but the plugin helps a lot plus animating is a simple thing with it) and then, have fun in octane, fine tune the materials, configure your camera to get the right mood for your scene, play with it and move around your model, enjoy total real-time feedback, that's it, easier to do than to read this. Have fun, really.
PS: if your nick has anything to do with your location, you can check and ask in the spanish forum, too.

ok, but, is possible put lights and cameras in octane directly, and in max model and materials/textures only?

yes it is, however you also do the materials inside octane, in real-time.

So, let just say that I model a basic/complex character in SILO and do all UVs there.
I bring it into Zbrush, do all the textures/sculpting. Then...I bring into Octane:
1. OBJ file
2. All the materials file?
And do all the material, scene setup in Octane?
Is there any video sample I can see showing the material setup process in Octane? Even just a simple sphere. Please.

sss and displacement is for the future v2.0
a lightwave plugin is currently being evaluated. (although a modo plugin has started development already)
