Hello guys,

I'm trying this amazing software. Bumped into a question. When I'm exporting to obj (every element is a separeted mesh with its own material applied) Octane reads it as one object and one material... how do I sort this one out?

Export with Material groups selected, or use Blender.

Is that anything wrong?

With those settings, when you import it into Octane, are the texture maps already applied then? Or do you have to re apply texture maps to materials?

Chris,

No textures on octacne... just a single black material applied to all the geometry. And I do have different materials on max for each object.

I just want differente materials in different objects.. and currently I can't

3ds max 2009 sp1 64bits
I mean 3ds max is a very popular 3d package... something will be indeed wrong if Octane doesn't give suport for the OBJ importing thing.

you should be able to export everything fine from max to octane,
here's more info: http://www.refractivesoftware.com/forum ... ?f=6&t=123

it would be nice if someone can take the time to sort out the 'perfect' profile,
then post a little tutorial with screenshots,
and we can include that in the documentation.
