Quitting on macs

so i have octane open, and when i open my model i can see the node version, but when i click on the node version to bring up the 3d model version its quits everytime and just says octane has unexpetidly quit, im using a macbook 4gb 1067 mhz ddr3 with a 2.26 ghz interl core duo on the latest version of os, i have cuda drivers and toolkit installed.

Do you have an Nvidia GPU in your mac ?

hmmm works with some of my sketchup models but not with others :/

and im running a 9400 nivada with this

I would not recommend octane on a system with that GPU, it's very slow (it's a chip meant for 2D / video), and it has barely enough video ram to take a small model.
Maybe buy a gaming PC if you're serious about using octane.

i see, any ideas on which p.cs are decent for rendering like ruff ideas on prices and specs i'd be looking for because we need a good rendering p.c in the office as most rendering packages only come in 32 bit for macs and all the computers in the office are mac. We render at about 10000 x 5000 resoultions with a high amount of materials and lighting, so if anyone could post the specs i should be using that would be great, definatly interested in octane render as it seems very efficient, fast and produces good results.

if you're serious about octane, i'd recommend a PC with 2 GTX480 GPU cards, and windows 7 x64.
Ask a pc-dealer and he can make you one.
