Any quality difference between stand-alone and max plug in?

Although I have a license of the stand alone software, I didn't really care about it as my main focus was the max plug in.
But I am wondering if I can get a better result by exporting animation from 3ds max to octane stand alone OR just render using the plug in.
Does anyone know what are the pros and cons?

Hi cgp

The 3dsmax plugin supports whatever the octane standalone version has. Only difference you can using octane render interactively and render directly within 3dsmax. The plugin has greater advantage on animation since it does not have to export the geometry out of 3dsmax and then voxelise it, instead just voxelise straight to the renderer. The plugin does need a bit of fine tuning to make a complete but it is stable enough to work with.

Hope it helps
