Bump mapping

Hi everyone,

I am trying to learn how to use Octane better and have been trying to figure out how to increase my bump mapping using nodes.

So fare I have not been able to get the results I am looking for. I am just using the material ball as I work with a wood texture but I just can't seem to get the bumps to really pop or over pop.

Any help would be great.

Right now I have a float going into the power node on a Floatimage and then that is going to the bump node of my glossy material. I can't wait for some more documentation or tutorials on this area.

Thanks

Here is a screen shot of what I am currently doing. The bump map looks okay but I to learn how to make it stand out a lot more. It might not be the best for this texture but for others.

Thanks for the help I am sure I am not using the nodes correctly. But the power of bump should go higher than 1

This was done in 1.21

try it again in 2.3 which is coming later today.
it's got some improvements in bump mapping.
