Hello,

I was quite impressed with the Octane Render Multi-GPU Demo (2x Geforce GTX480) demonstration video. Could you please write me what computer configuration was used in this demo? I have the following configuration: Q9550 2,83 / 8Gb Ram /Geforce GTX 260, and would like to figure out how much slower will it be on my PC. And could you please also write what difference in performance will be after changing my video card to Geforce GTX 470/480.

Thx ;)

it's on a core2 i970, 6GB RAM, windows 7 x64, with 2x GTX480 on an Asus Workstation motherboard. (the one with 7 pci-e slots).

the difference is approx 5x as fast as a GTX260.

The big thing to remember about Octane is that it is pretty much completely GPU based, so your CPU wont really play any role in speed. It is a new concept to get use to, but after you get comfortable with it you will be amazed at how different the world of rendering is.

he's demonstrating that while you're CPU is completely busy with other things,
octane still runs smooth as it does'nt need much CPU power at all.
