MLT / Mesh emmiters

Got two questions.
will it be possible to use mesh emitters in direct lighting mode (maybe no bounces but it could be useful to use their light patterns)
will MLT be faster than path tracing or is it the noise pattern which will make it better/clear.
already a very nice product, thanks.

I'm not sure about mesh emitters, but MLT according to Radiance will be faster and firefly free which is totally awesome if you ask me

mesh emitters will be supported in all kernels yes,
and MLT is an algorithm that's much more efficient at rendering complex scenes, not so efficient at simple, directly lit scenes (eg objects in the open).
however MLT does sample away the fireflies.

So MLT will not make scenes render faster, but just noise free for the same time scene renders with pathtracing ?

Here is some general info about MLT.

I tested the MLT and Pathtracing. Pathtracing with random sampler is much faster than the MLT and the noise goes faster with Pathtracing (noise more evenly).
In attach test images rendered with luxrender (mlt, path) in same rendertime (sorry for small size =)
