Hi guys !
1) Could you give me some advice on this one? (there's always room to improve!!!)
2) And which of the two do you prefer : I think the second one (with the lighter background) looks more realistic.
Thanks for your help & comms !!!
- PMC
- 2000 samples (but it would have needed a lot more)
- Postprod for the background / glares / ambiant glow / levels

I also agree, the lighter background is better. About improvement, I'm not so sure about your lights on the ceiling, their colors aren't that nice with the composition. If you could try to post a render without them just to see. And chairs look like hard plastic. Otherwise it's overall good.

Thanks Boeglin.
Do you mean that I sould change the yellowish lights to a higher temperature? (whiter)

A different version with white lights - it's NOT a render, I just did a quick test in postprod to see what the mood would be like...

I would rather switch them off, I think they don't bring anything as is. Maybe they are too strong as well. A lower light intensity would probably bring a little gradient, but those burning areas are not really attractive nor aesthetic. Its a bit too sunny, too lighty, in my eyes, but it must be my taste. I would actually turn lights off inside and play better with a cold feeling and reflections from the environment. Another idea, maybe try to integrate something red in the composition, something a bit catchy to attract the eye, but keep it small.

Thanks for your comments.
I tried to turn them off but it really turns down the "light" admosphere too much.
I'll try to lower the intensity.
I totally agree with putting some colour in this scene, otherwise it's all grey and "flat".
Will keep you posted, thanks again !

Hi again !
Here's the final render.
Thank you Boeglin for your helpful comments.
- I added some plants
- I re-worked my leather material so it looks less like plastic
- I added red elements to liven up the scene
- I changed the neon's colour for something more colourful and "arty"
- I lowered the other lamps' power
I have to admit that I'm happy with the render now, although I still haven't reached my personal goal (i.e. producing really photo-like pics)...
(grrr...

enrico, gabrielfx, refracty, etc. --> how do you do what you do??????)
Thanks again for your help !
- Modelled in Blender
- 506484 triangles
- PMC
- 3421 samples/px
- 1 hour 47 mins rendertime

Hello madcoo,
i really like you renders !!! very good job.
I would bring more structure into the leather or you want a smooth leather?
I think the leather looks more realistic if you have more structure.
maybe like this?

Thanks for your comment Saïd, I take your advice into account and when I work on leather again I'll sure think about what you told me.
Cheers
