With my cheap pair of Red + Blue cryan glasses it doesn't seem to work with the native Pink + Green cryan colors of the Stereo camera lens in Octane....any specific red and blue settings I should change to in Octane to make my cheap glasses work? All I get is the pink showing up and dark outline....

I might be looking to far into this, but when I look at the red + blue colors of the glasses themselves the blue looks a bit greenish....I just want to make sure that pure red and pure blue are what I should be using because it doesn't seem to work well in Octane.

Match the colours. Try holding the glasses up against a white part of the screen and use the sliders in the panels until the colours look the same. Having said that the colours of the cheap glasses may not be optimal.
Its possible the Octane colours are reversed for the glasses too. Check by turning the glasses around.

Of course if it is wrong swap the colours rather than wear the glasses upside down.

the Octane anaglyph feature is only for previews because if you have extreme highlights the white values will clamp colors.
The tonemapping affect the colors of the two color channels, you have to adjust manually the tones.
I hope that Karba will implement a stereo camera rig and Roeland should implement a side by side rendering option.
This feature is already implemented in vray-RT gpu.
Vray-rt gpu has the opengl quad buffered option. This option is really professional because with a Quadro we can see in realtime the stereographic effect. The Quadro must be connected to a 120Hz 3d monitor.
Just now I'm rendering several stereo stills with Octane.

Great points gabrielefx, please post some of your stills if you can.
