This is a rather pointless test to see if I could run 2048 CUDA cores (2 Nvidia GTX 590s) over my IPAD 2. I am testing the OCTANE rendering system with their benchmark file. The remote connection to the PC running two Nvidia GTX 590 GPUs was established using the Spashtop Remote application.

what difference would the iPad make? It is not actually running on the iPad.

I am inherently lazy...I want to work from my bed .
No seriosly though. My point in this test is to eventually run this over a 3G network. Not so that I can do serious work on it but so that I can run renders and check on the progress of renders from a location far away from my rendering machine. I have this PC at my home office, and I want to be able see the rendering state from work. Also I would want to be able to make minor adjustments to the rendering process if something goes wrong. Obviosly the program will never work directly on the IPAD but with good 3G in might not have to.

there should be an app for that.
i mean a dedicated app camera navigation via finger gestures...

Yes...but i was thinking more of using the accelerometer. The position and rotation and angle of the selected object would depend on the spacial position of the IPAD or the IPHONE. There actually already is an App like that out there for Cinema 4D

Try the splashtop app for it. that is what i used for this test. It works very fast.

.. you can also use teamviewer, for free if you choose you use it for personal use only and no work , I installed it on everything, works from pc to pc mainly, and also android iphone, ipad, and under most web browsers actually.. It still doesnt really run realtime, you cannot watch a movie realtime, it has a bit of a lag.. Unless this solution has a lower lag I'll try that one..
Does it run pc to pc or only some ipad/pc/mac combination
Just had an idea, skype has that thing when you can see the othe guys desktop, not sure but I think there is a desktop control app for skype also.. Anyway a solution that has realtime streaming and works well on all platforms..
But the thing is, this is what otoy is probably doing with their technology right now, realtime streaming over their servers.. A great idea if it works fast enough and cheap enough.. We'll see, I tryed out that soultion called hyperrender, you download client software and connect to server, than upload obj.. I found it useless and slow, threw somemoney away for the test..
Still if we could make servers out of our systems with a realtime soulution, that would be fine..
Did anyone try to hook up a mouse to ipad, I think i tried, but no go.. The keyboard works fine though, under android I know for sure mouse works and has a mousecursor and all..
