rock me
I also enjoy macro photography
Testing the deformer tool in c4d and this one took 500mb of Vram
the second one rendered for about 1 minute
edit: still rendering, I've learned that textures affect every aspect of feeling real, every texture affects the global parameters, and when you hit the right combination it just pops out, you can use any texture, but I think you really have to use a lot of lifelike textures, or just pick textures until you hit the right one - like everybody does
I couldn't beleive what kind of textures I got away with, random textures I had lying around.. incredible I never managed to get something that easy in anything
And this was a straight dump from octane, no photoshopping except one crop
All set on diffuse materials some with built in sky environment

wow, those are really nice, you could do a whole series of "little things we don't see, mainly because they aren't there".
Lots of polys for a rock, althou a nice and realistic looking one, hehehehe.
Keep on rocking!

thx, I actually used a blue marble texture that was easy, I was playing with textures for a while until I left it on for a minute or so, and just realized I've got some serious realism going on in there, the software sometimes feels like magic

Sure thing, but which one to choose

..
Great, now after this test I know I have to spend more time modelling, I'm always wasting a lot of time trying to ""make it look pretty", and all it is is the complexity of the model, and decent textures (although you could get away with most awful looking textures as looking great)

Hi !
I have done this with c4d and Octane :

Now, i would like to use more space with large landscapes like a desert.
I was impressioned by your materials.
Can you give me tips and tricks to do something like this ?
Thank you.

sorry not really sure what you're asking there, but your animation there looks pretty nice (although the cars usually don't do wheelies like you did) that's pretty nice, did you do the modelling also?
And there's a french part of the forum

What exactly do you need, if you made the above video, you seem to be preety well talented to find out the setting for a desert..
Just use a good texture for some sand - but you will probably need to animate the dust, using particles.. so that's another challenge
