MacPro, Octane and GTX460

I've seen a decent amount of posts regarding what graphics card to purchase/use on a MacPro using Bootcamp. It seems that the GTX460 has been recommended as a good card. Two questions regarding this:

1) Performance-wise (not considering cost) is the GTX460 recommended over the Quadro 4000?

2) Since the GTX460 is not a mac card, would this require flashing the card?

Appreciate the help!

the gtx 460 has nearly 50% more shader cores (336 vs. 256), nearly 50% higher cpu clock (~700 vs. 475 mhz), a higher vram clock (1800 vs. 1400 mhz) and the same vram interface (256 bits) - so i assume the 460 is giving substantial better performance in octane.

as i'm no mac user, i just can't tell, if it is possible to flash a 460 for use in a mac...

Don't forget only 224 of those cores are active for Octane.
