How can I get Octane's camera to match the one I get in my sketchup file?
Do Obj files can contain camera information as 3DS can?
Oops a last one question...I see Collada logo in your home web page, but cant see anyway to use a collada model in octane..!
I am on Demo WIN64 beta 2.1

Hi,
OBJ does'nt support getting the camera position/target into octane.
Collada is on our list for beta3, it's not available in current releases yet.
Some people have begun to write scripts to get camera and animation data into octane,
but nobody yet for sketchup.
I suggest you play around with octane to get the hang of it and position your camera in octane manually.
people usually do this, then make several shots from various angles while playing with the camera/navigating.

I see that collada is planed for beta3.
About camera: is there a way to get the camera at precise place (if i know my camera and target coordinates)?

you can type them into the values attached to pos, target and up, in the preview configuration thinlens camera node.
position is where the camera is,
target is a point the camera looks at,
and up is the direction the top of the camera point to. (eg upward)

PS: It would be cool if we could get someone to make an export script for sketchup, do you know anyone who could do this ?

I agree: a Sketchup exporter would be awesome and would bring many new customers I believe (actually most SU users are using Vray, Indigo and Maxwell due to their good workflow/exporters but they're way more pricey than Octane...)
