Refractive Software® is proud to announce the availability of the beta 2.57 release, replacing beta 2.52 release as the commercial release.

The demo version has been updated to beta 2.57 as well, it is now available on http://www.refractivesoftware.com/downloads.html. New users
can now evaluate OctaneRender® features added since beta 2.46b, like the PMC kernel, subsurface scattering and 3Dconnexion space navigator
support. Like the commercial version it uses CUDA 4.0, so users can better test compatibility with their system and evaluate multi-GPU performance.

The commercial version is available for licensed customers in the Commercial News & Releases forum.

Very good. I think multi gpu has been disabled in the demo in the past though or perhaps you missed changing the note
A number of people have been interested in trialing the 3ds max plugin.
Will Refractive make a demo available for that as well?
Demo versions of both stand-alone Octane beta 2.57 and the beta 2.57 plugin are needed together in that case.

The demo supports multi-GPU. It was dropped from the previous demo (which was based on beta2.46) because it didn't work well in the old framework and CUDA 3.2.

Well change the limitation note that says it doesnt
and the demo suite still says 2.46...

You need to purge that page from your browser cache (hit refresh).

Question is whether this will run on Mac OS10.7.3. I have followed install instructions both for the NVIDIA tool kit and driver, as well as the demo but crashes on start up at the info screen.

Make sure you install version 4.0. Several people reported that OctaneRender doesn't work with version 4.1.
