Hello, I had a Nvidia Geforce 610m, but octane didn´t work well with it, so i have the chance to change my laptop for another one with a GeForce GT630M. I want to know, please, if the GT630m will work well with Octane Render.

from the specs (http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-Int ... 966.0.html) i guess it could be 2-3 times faster, but if this is to call "well", depends on; a decent desktop card is still by another 4-8 times faster...

I just bought GeForce and I got everything to work. The problem is that now my mouse, and my deskopt stuff run really slow. For example, my mouse is lagging as hell when I move it. I tried speed it up, but it doesnt help. Any suggestions?

There is no scheduling on GPU's. If Octane starts a CUDA kernel, it will keep running on the GPU until it is done. During that time your display can't be updated, causing it to lag behind. The only way to avoid this slowness is to have one GPU for the display and another for rendering.

With laptops with both an integrated GPU and a discrete nvidia GPU it may be possible to use the integrated GPU for display and the discrete GPU for rendering, but as of now I don't know how to do this.

One thing that may help slightly is disabling Windows Aero.

yes, disable everything in your OS (visual effects & other nonsense) that needlessly use your graphic card. Having a better graphic card (x60 upward) also helps.

I'm able to work quite comfy with only one graphic card on Linux (good ol' Gnome 2 without fancy effects).
