Efficient Octane/3dsmax rendering

Hi Guys,

I'm currently being looked at for a rendering project, I was wondering if it would be possible for a cleaner rendering and which kernel might be better for the task.

I've noticed that reflections seem to have same amount of noise between Pathtracing (maxdepth 6) vs Directlighting (Diffuse) at about 6000 samples. They seemed to take about the same amount of time.

For the project I would need to render out a two minute animation of a boardroom in roughly 2-3 days and there is the need for it to be 'shiny'. So reflections are a must. I haven't really done much animation in Octane and so I thought I would ask the community!

Any suggestions? The sooner the better would be preferred ;j

Admittedly, I'm willing to consider a tech upgrade.

Small sources such as the one in your images (ie: not sunlight or not daylight environments) tend to take longer to converge on a clean solution - ie: dark contrasty areas tend to generate more noise - which takes longer to clean up. Not exactly the magic bullet you were hoping for but let's hope it gets the ball rolling.

Nah, to be honest it what I expected. But thats for the feedback, it's appreciated! I'll be sure to keep that in mind.
