I want to use daylight or a hdr for my light but also an image as a background, how can I do this?

Right now you're only chance is to slap the background texture to a plane, pretty far away so it doesn't affect illumination too much

Hmm.....

Interior shot, windows, looking outside at background photo...... when this background photo has to be mapped on a plane far away in the distance then I have to scale this plane a lot and then this "background" plane still effects the light and shadows I would say.

no, not at this time.

Yes, the plane has to be far away, just try it... this trick has been done for ages in Archviz
