Temperature monitoring apps

Can any one suggest a good Mac app (preferably free) for monitoring a card's temperature. Seems to be quite a few out there but I don't want to try them all.
Going to be installing a new, more powerful card soon and I want to ensure everything is safe.
Also suggestions on PC apps welcome since if things do not work out on the OS X side, I will be using Octane in Bootcamp.
Thanks!

I downloaded EVGA Precision as the card I got was from EVGA (and actually just noticed that app is included in the box with with my card purchase).
But I am also looking for general apps that record your system's temps - particularly for OS X. Has anyone used one they can especially recommend?
One other question: Do you know if the adjustments made to the graphics card through EVGA Precision on the Windows side also carry through if switching to Mac OS X afterwards?
Thanks!

Using BIOS to monitor temperature means constantly rebooting to check. There is plenty of freeware out there that is easy to use. This software will give you greater control of your system and especially your power management.

On Windows 7 there is a nice gadget called GPU monitor, allowing the temp to be placed on your desktop. Very practical, even more when having a second monitor.
You can find them when right click on desktop, Gadget, then look for more online.
On the page that pops up it should be.
Also shows how much of VRAM of the GPU is used in percentage (not very reliable as it somehow doesnt show the same numbers as Octane), how much of the GPU's processor is being used and how fast the fan is spinning.
For OSX i use iStat Menus. When installing its located on the menu bar, hence always visible via a dropdown menu.

even if i would consider this being spam, i indeed had already the idea for an octane ipad app; in fact a realtime viewport app, with several gestures to navigate the camera; cold be cool to monitor and/or alter a rendering from bed

i'm very happy in the using of this:
http://www.splashtop.com/remote
it's not exactly what t_3 is dreaming (and me too obviously) in fact is not so good for navigating the scene, but it's perfect for setting up the scene, monitoring the rendering and you realy have the sensation to have octane on the iPad
