Difference between nvidia GPU driver and CUDA 3.0 driver

Using the demo with nVidia GTX260.

I currently have the standard nVidia drivers installed and Octane seems to work fine. I noticed that the recommended CUDA 3.0 driver is the same version number. 197.13. The notes for my driver say:
Supports CUDA Toolkit 3.0 features and performance enhancements. See CUDA Zone for more details.
Do I need to install CUDA drivers instead or are they part of the standard driver package? Will I get any performance gains changing to this driver as everything seems fine?

it's best to install the latest drivers from the main nvidia drivers page.
we recommended those development drivers at the time of that release as then those were the only cuda 3.0 supporting drivers,
but nowadays all new driver downloads on the main nvidia page have versions that are cuda 3.0 compatible,
and it's always best to install the latest versions.
