Engine Questions

So I tried out the demo more and more. Some questions left.

Caustics:
Since I'm switching over from Fryrender here I want to know how the engine handles caustics and especially sun caustics and emitters caustics?
Fry needs about 50% of it's computational power to solve them, how about Octane?
I didn't notice any fireflys during testing, but are there some problems with caustics and materials and the sun?
SSS:
in maxwell and fryrender you can use a thin sheet sss material for tree leaves etc.Do you have something like that? Or if not, is there a workaround for that? Maybe you will include something like this...
Scene size:
What poly count can one render with - let's say - 2GB of GPU RAM? This question comes up when I think of getting a GPU with 2GB or more for this engine.

thanks

Regarding leaves, octane currently has option to control diffuse transmission via which you can get some translucency effect( fake sss)

Cheers,

EDIT

Here is one of my tests with diffuse transmission. Tree has only one material(dark gray) and diff transmission set to green color.

you can get away with about 13 to 15 M polies with 2GB ram.
but take in mind that you need space for your textures too, so if you plan to use lots of large texture maps, that will also take space...
