Hi to all
i have a few question about (like i wrote) animation...
as i notice octane can import only obj file, and i saw some nice animation in gallery with bmw car (i think its the 1st video)
so as we all know obj format cant save animation inside one file
if some1 could explain to me how to get animation inside octane? (the only thing that comes to my mind is obj seq

)
cheers and great job

it's using batch processing and command line options, which aren't available in the current beta2.
they are in the upcoming beta 2.1 which will be released in a few days.

some of our members are working on basic animation scripts.
can't promise anything at this point though.

I have a 3dsmax export script done and working.
plan to write a script with a small UI for 3dsmax as well. Ive actually started on the basics already.
When we get the new build I can test the stuff out.
no promis, but plan to :
start octane from max button, done.
Export a single camera view with sun direction + mesh + shaders with a single button press, and octane starts automaticly and starts to render.
Im no script nazi, but i think I can intergrate all flags that will be exposed and make input fields in the max UI for variables...samples and such.
so you can control alot from max and send it to octane in one go..
after that, export animation as well and render in one go.
again, no promis, but I think I can make it..
we'll see when new build gets online..

I´m working on a Softimage Plugin.
I can save picked objects to obj, generate a simple ocs-file and launch Octane to render the generated things to a png-file.
Next thing is to convert the camera in Octane friendly values...
