Hi there,

is it possible to import the camera location and angle from my modelling software (Sketchup) into Octane, are they stored in the .obj format?
Or maybe they're already there and I just don't see them since I also can't find where to fix my camera position inside Octane.

thanx so much for your help

If your sketchup camera has a variable field, eg. a place where it reads x= y= z= and target of camera the same, simply put those numbers into the octane camera value variable field.
done.
dont forget fov as well.

inside octane, place your camera or cameras and save he camera and target values to a txt file and copy past them when need to go back. its very fast to do and no argument is good enough for not doing this since nothing else is possible at the moment :D

thx for your quick response. As far as I know there is no way to get these values in Sketchup but maybe i'll find a ruby script extension to do so.

since it's the only way to get a certain camera position in octane i guess i'll try it that way ;o)

Will beta 2.1 support camera import?, Because i need it for animation, or at least to keyframe it inside octane.

you will be able to control this with flags - that is if you understand how to do this with scripting.
If you do not understand that part, then no.
