I log onto my PC as an Administrator and am running 64 bit Windows 7 Professional.
When I run the install program (OctaneRender_Demo_102_beta2_win_x64.exe), I get an error that says
"You must run this installer with administrative rights. Please try again
using another account".
My login is definitely an Admin login (with no password since this is just a home pc).
Any ideas??

try right click "run as admin"

can you go to Control Panel\\User Accounts and make sure it says "administrator" next to your icon, under the user account name ?
