Can anyone point me in the right direction for the best workflow for rendering Daz3d scenes in Octane?
I looked around the forum and know that i can export an obj from daz and render in octane but was unsure if the process of linking textures could be automated? is there any support for getting daz animation like eye blinking, arm movement into octane? where can i get the daz2octane plugin and has anyone used it?
I know it's a bunch of questions, thanks in advance.

Hi, there are exporter scripts to export the scenes from your modeling app so they can be imported into octane for rendering, but these scripts are accessible to licensed users. If you don't have a standalone license yet you can try exporting to wavefront obj

Yes, I would like to purchase the license, that is not an issue.
But, I would like to get more details of what can be done with the exporter/importer scripts.
- can it transfer over animation like eye blinks, limb movement and/or body morphs?
- can it transfer over/convert all the textures? or do you link the textures once than it's done for later transfers?
currently i have been using obj 2 blender/cycles but looking for a more automated solution that supports animation.
thanks in advance

Currently Daz2Octane Plugin does not directly support Daz animation.
Features include easy transfer of scene from DAZ Studio to Octane including bump, normal and opacity material.
Transfer Camera view to Octane
Transfer distant light position to Octane.
Set DOF, FOV and Max samples and a few more opotions from within Daz Studio.
IBL support with world sphere.
Area lights
Setup scene in Daz Studio and transfer to Octane for rendering.

Current offering is only a limited use demo that has a few options disabled. The full version should launch later this month as the beta test feedbacks are evaluated.

WOW, i'm impressed, the environment feature is great.
The speed is very very fast using just one of the gtx 590's GPUs.
I did a obj export/import with the demo octane software for now but i'm going to purchase the license later today.
a few questions:
- is the import scale 39.3701 for DAZ Studio?
- is there anyway to up the mesh resolution in octane? i can subdivide "2" in daz but was unsure if i was missing a setting in octane.
- is there any way to batch copy/save texture setting? undo, copy, paste?
thanks in advance

If you are looking for any more beta testers add me to the list, if not I look forward to the release later in the month.

Hi Tugpsx,
Great new that the full version of your plugin is coming shortly. You said in another threat that your are also working on a similar plug in for carrara. Will it be released within the same period or later ?
Thanks
