Im trying the demo on my laptop because im not at work.
First of all my current driver is 195.62_notebook_winxp_32bit_international_whql.exe
I have downloaded cudadriver_2.3_winxp_32_190.38_general.exe but I cant install because of 7zip Data error.
Ive re-installed 7zip that doesn't change anything.

But I can run Octane without cudadriver_2.3_winxp_32_190.38_general.exe is that normal?
Im currently downloading cudadriver_2.3_winxp_32_190.38-beta_notebook.exe to see if it works

While running Octane with the spaceship scene at 640*480 my system start to slow down (the windows UI specially) and the Octane UI become very slow. But that's maybe because I dont have the cuda driver

if it works, good for you
do try downloading and installing the correct drivers, we can't make any guarantees when you're not using the right one.
if you have issues with the actual drivers, you should contact your PC supplier or manufacturer or find help on a nvidia driver specific forum,
we're no driver programmers.

you're card is very slow, so don't expect much performance.
you should try to give it a go on a desktop system with a decent GPU if you have access to one.

Yeah I understand, and I have access to good GPU at work. But currently im on my laptop
But why does im able to run Octane wich use CUDA without the CUDA driver links you provided in your release notes?
Does the standard Nvidia drivers come with CUDA built in? At least the last versions?

yeah, i think the standard drivers do have cuda nowadays.
it could work although you might have some stability problems, or issues with future beta/final versions of octane with all features enabled...

Its the third time I download the Cuda driver you said to download in the readme and I get a corrupted .exe
Ive tried to download it from my OSX same thing.

both cudadriver_2.3_winxp_32_190.38-beta_notebook.exe
and cudadriver_2.3_winxp_32_190.38_general.exe

are corrupted.

Can someone who run XP 32bit can download anyone of those from Nvidia and see if the .exe extract correctly?

edit: In the Octane device manager ive got Cuda Driver Version = 3.00 Cuda Runtime Version = 2.03
Active Cuda Device Geoforce 8600M GT Capability Mode = 1.1

Cuda is a standard feature of Nvidia cards nowadays. If it's a recent (few months old) it'll have CUDA bundled with it.

I'm not sure if we can redistribute those drivers here...
Have you tried using octane with your 3.0 driver ? if it works, use that one...

I dont understand you Radiance.
Currently on my 8600M GT I got installed 195.62 notebook driver for XP 32 from Nvidia.

and cudadriver_2.3_winxp_32_190.38_general.exe

are NOT installed because I cant installed them

when you say 3.0 driver is that CUDA or DISPLAY driver ?

You don't need them!

You have a later version.

If it works, it work's, just keep using them. I think Radiance placed that in the read me as a miniumum driver so people who have lower revisions go download it.

Does Octane open and run on your card?
