Texture direction on non-planar geometry (from SU)

Hi all,
The grain direction is wonky! I have been searching on the forums but could not find a solution. I was a bit surprised since it should be a common issue. I know Octane does not yet allow directional manipulation of textures but even that wouldn't have solved this issue. Is there any way to manipulate the geometry in SU to ensure parallel grain direction in non-planar geometry without creating different materials for treads and risers respectively? Or could this by any chance be achived in Octane?

If this has been covered I had obviously missed it, so please point me in the right direction!

you don't need to create different materials, just assign the material, tweak the texture position for one riser and one tread, then with the material picker copy it to the rest.

Thanks Kubo, but I don't get it. How to tweak (rotate) the texture on the riser without affecting the tread if they're the same material (just at different planes)??

Ok, this can't be done in Octane, which is still 100% dependent on the modeling app's texture map orientations - presume this texture direction could be classed as one of the 'normals' properties of the native app geometry (p. 26 in the manual). I rotated the texture in SU, problem solved.
Cheers vir eers,

sorry Seekerfinder, I meant you had to tweak it in SU, octane doesn't quite allow that right now.
