Antializing issues.

Greetings Octaners.

We have some renderings going on for a client.

We havent used Octane for any commercial project yet due to being a beta.

Unfortunately we decided to use it this time for testing purpuses mostly and because i have the feeling that it renders better than maxwell.

The problem is that allthough all settings are correct and the textures we used are crystal clear, the render outcomes are blurry.

Its not a lens FOV issue or anything like that.

When we use Maxwell everything is perfect but with octane it comes out blurry (lettering mostly we are rendering a product).

Is there any antializing setting or something we can use, or any trick?

Unfortunately we cant upload any render due to NDA from the client.

Use a sharpen filter in post?

you could also verify that the "filter size" in the kernel panel is set to 1 and the "hot pixel" in the image panel is set to 1 ;)

Hotpixel is 1 (yes i know it blurs things up in order to "remove" hotpixels so i dont use it )

Filter size was 1.5, i am making some renders in pathtrace again with setting to 1 to see any difference.....

Alternatively you could render out a large image and scale it down with sharpening (Photoshop option).

Do you know if there is any coding problem causing this??

What i mean is why on other engines there is no problem when rendering the same 3d models and with octane they get a bit blurry?

Was this a premature method of removing the hotpixels issue?

I really cant recall in previous version of Octane (talking on the first 3 or 4 versions) to have this "blur" problem.

May you could setup a sample scene without material from your client and upload it.
As you see in the gallery, nobody has problems with blurry images.

Cheers, mib.

Hello Mib.

Yes thats true and thats also the reason i am very confused.

Models and textures are under NDA both i really dont want to take any chances of something going wrong.

Cheers man and thanks again.
