Lightning saturation control

Hi,

It might be nice to have a saturation slider in the hdr environment node.
The lightning intensity would stay the same, just the amount of color coming from the HDR could be tweaked.

I think there's gonna be a "saturation" node at some point
That would be usefull for any textures including HDRIs

Adding too much sliders everywhere is less efficient that adding nodes

i've actually thought about the very same thing while rendering those lamborghini images.
i'll see what i can squeeze into our todo list ;)

Could it be possible to have a 0% to 100% power on the film response curves also ?
Where 0% is linear

This is related to light saturation, since the film curve change the saturation of colors (and other things of course)

Sometimes the film response curve is just a bit "too much" and not enough subtle

can't you just play with the gamma instead ?
that's more work, and i don' think we have time enough to squeeze that into beta2.1

Yeah I play a lot with the gamma already
Some presets like Ektachrome need 2.2 gamma at least

I don't need it for beta 2.1
Marc Tellier didn't speaked about beta 2.1 at all

Im just writing what I thought would be usefull
And since its related to saturation, and I don't want to create a topic for it, I write it here

Yes, it can also become slightly confusing.
This makes me think of the glossy node, it's getting crowdy in there.

Maybe the advanced controls (bump, normal, filmwidth, filmindex) sliders could be folded by default for clarity?
Or maybe a sub-section container.

Just an idea, don't know if it make sense.

IMHO, sliders and settings, with their labels, frame etc. occupy too much room, for me it's a design issue that will probably be ignored for sure  , but hey I had to say it  It somehow looks crowded and hard to read when maybe there are not so many elements, but the way they're arranged and the room they occupy, for me it's not optimal. Like the glossy material mark teller just mentioned, just count the effective settings and sliders and all the room it occupies it's just out of proportion. IMO

is'nt it maybe because i'm always running at 1920x1200 ?
maybe people with smaller displays see a very long glossy material node connections list.

?

Im at 1680 by 1050

I think you could gain some pixels
There's a lot of "frame in a frame" in the list
And each frame take a little bit of pixels
Or some settings could be closed by default

Its ok for me, I mainly use the material picker

But I can't imagine people with smaller screens than 1680 :|
