Kalua wrote:Cool. Thanks for the ORBX feature! A couple of things though:
1. Does the random color instance with gradient technique works with multiple copies of an ORBX object scattered in the scene?
2. I must report that my shader preview is not working properly, textures are not showing in the preview or having any effect in normals or bumps. Render window works as usual. Anyone else?
Cheers!
What's render preview? Sounds like having wrong dlls.
I mean the Shader editor preview window (see image attached).
So far it happens only with files created in 4.00 and now are opened with 4.01.1. New files created with 4.01.1 are working as it should.
Dlls are fine.
Hi there,
did you find a solution, because I have the same problem.
the double click does not work! nothing happens
thx

I'm getting long pauses (spinning beachball) on Mac with R4. This used to happen on previous versions but seemed to have been resolved. I think its something to do with textures, paths or the preview balls rerendering maybe... I thought it might be because I had large tiff textures, so converted to jpegs but still get intermittent pauses of approx 6 seconds for each material in the scene (or maybe for each texture in one particular material, its hard to tell what the condition is). You can just get enough time to turn off LV rendering which stops the beachballs. Texture caching is on, only two texture paths in prefs. Not sure what else to try?
I'm really don't understand the language of OSX guys(beachballs,etc..)
Could you please explain where do you get these pauses? And which operations trigger this? And is it hang forever or just a few seconds of hang?
Just a thought but it might be a good idea to familiarise yourself with common colloquialisms of platforms you're developing for...
IDK specifically when it happens, its difficult to determine. It can be fine for a while then suddenly start happening - it might be scene specific. But its definitely only when the LV is running. I still have a feeling its to do with textures somehow. Like when there were delays searching for textures in the file paths set in the prefs (I seem to recall?). Its very similar to that.
I do notice that the texture previews in the node editor often remain black. Sometimes they display, sometimes not.

Sdahaner could you please record some video to show what you are experiencing?
Node previews should work fine if you have render from current scene. Otherwise stays black.

OK thanks! It's fixed on my wip version before you reported. It needed some update and restart of rendering to apply changes to the renderer.

Hi Ahmet,
C4D is shutting down (quits off) without writing any bug report or log file if I render a scene which is higher than 3000x3000 pixel. I tried in different sizes and if going above that size it is crashing right at the very end if it is writing the file to disk or trying to write render passes to disk. Very annoying .
Do you have any idea why this is happening?
Thanks - Ron

No but you can give more details to understand the issue. Please all of you guys, share more information about gpu and render stats, system info, also scene please. Even contact me by Pm.

Funny enough - I don't have any unconverted materials in my scene. But I found two with orphaned image texture nodes. Maybe those are the bad guys?
I will try once more ...
