I don't think that any software can burn graphic cards. It can happen if it has near to end-of-life or weak against the stress of high calculations.

It was a video card on water cooling, without any problems working with Oktan 3.0.8 on various projects. I reported this not to blame anyone, but only for the developers to try to pay attention to any errors in the code of the program, so that users would end up with a safe product.

Hey Aoktar,

do you have any Idea, what happened here..:

very strange crashes with this release...

- Mac Pro (12 Cores) with high sierra
- C4D 19 Studio
- 1 x titan x + 1 x 1080ti
- nvidia driver 39... with Cuda 9.1

everytime i check "Denoise", my Mac Pro shut down!!!

i tried something..:
- activated only this card or the other
- activated denoise and tonemapping only on one card

Nothing helps..!
do anyone know this problems..???"

Octane is Kirk. OS is Scotty. GPU is the warp core.

Any sort of thermal control/speed throttling is the job of the system software and video card drivers, not the applications that run on them. Any graphics heavy app is going to ask the hardware to do as much as it possibly can. It's up to the system to decide when to say, "We're given' 'er all she's got!"

Every plugin is a different software which connects host and octane core. And any feature of CORE needs to be implemented well and integrated tightly. So it's not a matter of minutes as somebody thought. Sometimes it can be very complicated to inject or sometimes very quick!
