5 time slower??
are you sure you have no issues around Hardware Configuration or paging system?
the workflow is very fast and does not have any issue unchecked pflow option (video attached).

hi here is the post from this forum from neon saying about this problem. For some reason with this unchecked and using phoenix fd it takes 10 min to evaluate the scene

page 3 viewtopic.php?f=80&t=62505&start=20

{{{{update about grid inside the grid. It looks like when a small grid inside a large one , brightness of a large grid affects a small grid brightness. If a large grid has a strong bright fire a small fire (that is inside a large grid ) will be also brighter than if it was outside a large grid }}}}}

"The issue comes from the new PFlow instance support
>> Please select 'Disable PFlow mesh Instances' in the Trouble shooting tab of Global Preferences <<
That should bring back the evaluation time to normal !
We currently need to parse the scene a first time (which is slow when you have many meshes..) for this PFlow instance system..
If you don't use PFlow, you should definitely disable this ..
If you use PFlow, it should still be highly beneficial to enable it, but might depend on number of particles vs non-pflow meshe count ..

Thanks"

Hi coillbook,
yes I know, Neon told me he's working to optimize the use of Pflow, but it's strange you're 5 times slower.
if I check that option with your file, 3Dsmax rebuilds Psource and Octane Render slows down.
But if I uncheck it, then Octane does not slow down at all (as in the video).
There must be something else that creates this issue.
Could you kindly use the setting as in the screenshot?
Do you still have the issue?

Paride

here is a follow up file for smoke fuel where fuel now is non renderable.
if you can simulate 10-20 frame and open viewport you will see smoke works and fuel does not
Thank you
HI Coilbook,
your attachment is a file made with PhoenixFD demo, all settings lost, cannot use it.
Attach a commercial file with your settings please.

that is strange it is a commercial license we a re using

basically if you can make mesh to generate fuel only and then in OUTPUT tab check fuel to export you will not see fuel rendered. I will try to resend the file

it is strange. If you go to page 3 of this forum I am not the only one having this problem. Version 4.38 worked fine but in 4.39 we have to uncheck phlow in tools otherwise it is a good 10 min evaluation time. You might be able to see this problem with that giant file I sent to you 2 weeks ago through wetransfer

Unfortunately we must use 4.39 because wrong mb directions for phoenix fd particles in 4.38

thank you

Another user
"Compared with 4.38 and 4.39. All Render setup is the same.
'Enable Extra Log' is off, all all V1 support is disabled.
The 4.39 is slower x5-x10 times."

Guys, when do you plan to fix Ornatrix problems, which I showed here and add the hair shader with melanin randomizer like as in Arnold or Renderman? =)

HI Paridie
do you also mean you can render fuel or you are investigating it?

Thank you
