Hi guys!

I just bought the full version of octane render yesterday and it's just amazing!

A small problem though. I used the demo for some while before i bought the real deal it seems, that everything is working a bit slower.
Although i got faster results in the final rendering, the c4d interface itself is showing some lag when the live viewer is open. Also, settings windows load up slower. Than wasn't the case with the demo.

Is there something i can do to fix this?

first, welcome here. Nice decision. I think you should check render priority of gpu's from Settings window. If you set on and low for gpu which is used for viewport, you should work smoothly.

Hi Ahmed,

with the current version the live db is not loading materials etc. It shows an empty window which says in the status bar: MSG:loop.

Any ideas?

Hello aoktar, it keeps crashing and i am getting the same error when doing random stuff, like copy/pasting objects or textures, or sometimes just navigating the viewport. It doesn't seem to happen when i do something in particular. It's not a texture or objects, because after i reload the scene, i use the same objects and textures and this time it doesn't crash. Does anyone else get these errors, or is it just me?

The same on mac os x 10.9.2 and C4D R15.057.
Without internet connection -> no materials (downloaded all in the previous versions) in the stored library visible. But they are all stored on the hard drive !?
With internet connection -> all fine.


Also have problems with the texture emission. Different results in the LiveViewer and the PictureManager output.
Only the same result, if I boost the emission float slider 10x higher than before.
This way I can reach the previous LW-results after this step, but then the current LW-result is 10x higher/brighter also.
Please have a look there!


Is the C4D-Foreground Object also working with octane in the near future? The Background Object is supported from octane !
Would be nice for animated black and withe shader/gradients, etc. for scene blending directly inside C4D/Octane.


Maybe you can add support for the free "Tools4D Spline Shader" !? ... or must I ask the developer for octane support ?

i think you get soo much crashes, it's not normal. Can you post some additional info? this is not usefull. I need some bugreport.zip when you get it. If you get crash go and get bugreport.zip, and pls send me a few different bugreport.zip. Also pls attach a few words when you get it.
Btw, did you installed standalone with installer exe?

Livedb is designed for internet connection, in some old versions, i added a caching method for working offline. But this is broken now because of changes of sdk. Maybe i can fix for future.

Background and foreground objects are possible. In samples.zip, there is some scenes for that. you should put a standart material to background or foreground object.
