macOS 11.4 beta 1 finally brings the 6800/6800XT/6900XT drivers that Beppe promised us were coming
So happy! And thank you Beppe for keeping our faith alive with your remarks. Hope you didn't get into trouble with Apple..

I'd love to, but Octane Bench doesn't yet support it unfortunately

"No supported GPU found" is what Octane Bench 2020.2.3 reports.
I'm not a 3D artist or regular Octane X user (yet) and haven't installed any plugins for it, so I'm not sure if I can bench in the main app.
I can give you Geekbench 5 results - a Metal score of 183k, three times my Vega 64 8GB. The OpenCL score is 122k, so there's quite a gap between OpenCL and Metal. Fortunately the software I use is all Metal compatible now (mostly DaVinci Resolve, hopefully Octane X in the future.)

Hi I'm having the same problem with the Blender Plugin (on OSX), it says that the Server version doesn't match (the server About Us shows the following version: Version 22.2 (22.2 2021-04-14)).

Blender plugin crashes the server after starting viewport render with an octane material attached to an object. Without the material it renders.

Great to see Big Navi GPUs in action
Unfortunately I have tried with an AMD Radeon 6700 12GB, but it is not supported yet:
About OctaneBench, it doesn't support Metal GPUs for now, we need to wait for stable 2021 SDK, to have both CUDA and Metal support, later this year.
To have an idea of the performance, please download and install Standalone PR11, or OctaneX from Apple Store.
Then download the following .orbx scene, open it with Standalone, select the Render Target PT node to start rendering, and at the end, please share a complete screenshot of the result:
I will add it in this graph for a comparison:
Happy Mac GPU rendering,
ciao Beppe

I'm really very sad,Octane X PR11 in Blender is now working, but it will quit every time it adjusts the material, and then it will fail to adjust the material and it will not render

Hi, I just downloaded PR11 for C4D R21. I'm not seeing the new chaos node, which would be perfect for a ground texture that causing repetition problems.
Is Octane X a few versions behind the latest Windows version? Or am I just being dumb and the new nodes from 2020.2 DCC are in the latest Octane X c4d release somewhere?
I'm sure there's a way to recreate it using OSL projection, but I can't figure out the script to randomise the rotation.
Thanks!

BUT.... the PR7 Prime for Cinema 4D R23 doesn't work at all at my Macbook Pro with Intel running Big Sur 11.2.3. When I try to create a new Octane material (doesn't matter which one) the preview is just pitch black (sometimes it looks something like a glitch). Then when I try to start the renderer, Cinema 4D just freezes and I need to force-quit. This happens every single time. Please help! Maybe Octane isn't supposed to run on a Macbook Pro without eGPU or AMD card? I read that @cjadams had some similiar issues back in this thread, don't know if they got resolved?
Same issue with the same MacBook Pro and the last version : "Octane X® (Mac Pro) Enterprise for Cinema 4D® Updated 2021-04-19"
Do you have any solutions?
