I have attached the error I get right before it crashes.
@paride4331 is this build compatible with 3DS Max 2018?
@solomonfl

I sent this crash issue to developers this morning

Hi Paride, thanks. Any idea when this will be fixed? I still can't use octane with 3DS Max 2018

Hi solomonfl,
i am using 3dsMax 2018 for a long time and i did not encounter issues either with Maxwell or Pascal GPUs.
Another user experiences issues with 3dsMax 2018; he owns 4 x 1080Ti and 3dsMax crashes using Youtube.
What about your hardware and software configuration?
When does the issue happen in your case?
Regards
Paride

I have 2x 1080 cards. The crash happens right away when I start Max 2018 after I install the octane plugin. When I remove the octane plugin, Max 2018 works fine.

HI Paridie
Can you looks at this 3ds max file for fireworks (attached here). If you go to frame 800 and open viewport it takes forever to open but it is only using 0.5 GB of vram. is it a bug?

Also all these firework facing planes are they copies or instances?

Thank you!

Hi Justix,
no issue found here, testing with a previous 4.39 camera, a new 4.39 camera or a 3dsMax camera.
Trying to merge the scene into a new file?

Hi Paridie

here is a follow up file for smoke fuel where fuel now is non renderable.
if you can simulate 10-20 frame and open viewport you will see smoke works and fuel does not
Thank you

Hi coilbook,
5 time slower??
are you sure you have no issues around Hardware Configuration or paging system?
the workflow is very fast and does not have any issue unchecked pflow option (video attached).
