And, capturing the actors with the Lightstage. Daz is starting to look a bit outdated..
Otoy would do a favour to whole mankind if you´d release lets say two actors in t-pose and with just few basic face morphs, for non profit demo purposes. After those demos, it would be quite easy to find investors and then book some time at the Lighstage studio with actors. It is impossible to explain all this evolution to the potential investors, and tech talk is forbidden anyways to them.. this needs to be seen in VR.

We are on the same page. We will be adding fully rigged generic LightStage data to our store for artists to use, and probably Clay's head to liveDB. GTC will have a few more details.

Also some coverage on CNET of how Octane Render looks in new Oculus app, which they are showing at MWC right now, and GDC this week:

"I looked at a few of the new films on the newest Samsung Galaxy S6 version of the Samsung Gear VR, as well as some 360-degree stereoscopic 3D photos created by Otoy Octane Render, which looked like still-lifes of a 3D reality. These will also hitting the Oculus VR store."

I think, now it is a good time for me to start writing a story, a proper script. While waiting all this, so I don´t have to worry about that when I am knocking my self out with all these new things. :)

Exciting future. Have a DK2 since september. Can´t wait to try some renders/animatins for it. Any idea of when the app will be out? April?

Yes April, but the App will NOT support the DK2, it's only for Gear VR.

"we are working on our app for DK2 and GearVR"

It may be in 2 parts:

I think the part about the DK2 and GearVR, is really some preview/prototyping lua scripts to help with the development of 360 VR renders using octane.

Then to view, you would upload you cube map render to the Otoy app at the Samsung/GearVR store so people with the GearVR can view it. But this app does not currently support the DK2.

Goldorak would be the source of the official info though. We may just have to wait until the release to find out all the details.

GearVR lua player app is done. We are submitting it for the store next week. Hope to see it online early April when we release OctaneVR. It loads stereo cube map images and stereo 360 VR movies made in octane, and soon ORBX media files. You just drop files into ORBX folder the app makes on your phone and you can view your own work on it. We will update it to pull VR content from a url including the WB batman project or user images posted to the forums or submitted from the app itself.

Any chance to have the app outside the store? I live in Japan, and my GearVR cannot access the store... :|
