If you are not gaming just turn off the sli. I am not sure how nvidia setting look like for titan z but I think you should not worry that much about it. The most important is to turn on desired gpus in octane settings - you should see 4 gpus for 2xtitans z.

Thanks, and confirming not for gaming not yet anyway...nothing I would need all that for but look forward to putting that aspect to the test as well, just need to find the right game.

- as yes, that's what I wanted to here.

Hi Laticis,
Result of Benchmark must be about the same without overclocking,
Still I am Curious to your numbers with TitanZ to see if other elements of the config of the build might make the difference.

These are my results of TitanZ with Octane 2.12.1
@ 940-980mhz core (where can I see the mhz mem?)
PT, Alpha shadows off (>1000 s/px):
path term power 0.3, coherent mode off (15.58 ms/s)
path term power 0 , coherent mode off (10.92 ms/s)
path term power 1 , coherent mode off (26.70 ms/s)
path term power 1 , coherent mode on (28.59 ms/s)
note: the ms/snumbers are dropping and rising all the time.. these is appr. the average numbers

Cheers,

Gday Rappet :)

Trying to get a good handle on things at the moment. I usually use the DAZ Studio Octane Plugin, finding my way around Octane itself is a small learning curve.
I will post some numbers once I get a few thiungs sorted.
Still cant get Octane to read/state 4 x GPU :(

"the ms/snumbers are dropping and rising all the time" - yeah, I found that too.

Hi Laticis,

Nice too see a pair of those Z :D
Longing to see the numbers.. :o :o

Btw, what is the mobo?
(I got MSI X99S Gaming 9 AC)

@glimpse, @smicha, others... What specs of a build do have effect on the performance of GPU renderspeed?
Brand of GPU (and type... I.e. 580 'classified'), but I mean the specs of other hardware, such as
Mobo, CPU (needs some communication with CPU, yes/no?), other specs?

Cheers,

Hi Rappet,

It was nice for me to see them too LOL - been aiming at building a beast for years now, came close but wanted to wait for the Haswell E and was going to wait till next year but the Titan Z's came on special for $ 1800 AUS each but a one day special, with help from mate this system was designed and purchased in one day.
Hate rushing, especially on things like this but had no choice ;)

LOL - Yep Same MB too, it really was the only one out there to offer most requirements. :)

Hi Laticis,

Did you try and unplug one TitanZ to see which TitanZ is not seen by Octane?
Hope you get it working soon.

I noticed that you have a sli bridge.
I might be wrong, but I heard that with new cards hardware bridge for sli is not needed anymore, and that setting it in software will do the job. Just wondering... Maybe someone else knows more about this beign false or true.
If true...maybe stupid thought here... Might the sli bridge be disturbing the reading of two Titan?
Did you try to remove the sli bridge and restart to see what happens?
Probably this is not the issue and maybe according to pros this is a weird thought... just trying to eliminate possibilities here.

Cheers

Hey almost-twin-brother ;)
Got same mobo... I tell you a secret: we got the same PSU too
As expected same benchmark appr. 15.5
So, the TitanZ is MSI?
