Hi Paul,
Following your feedback on my file test I can confirm that you stated the following;
ROTATED MAPS - This is not supported at present - work around: Rotate map in photo editor first and reload map into either Rhino or Octane.
SCALING - Not always translating properly using mapping tools in Rhino - work around: Change the map scaling in Octane window - higher number make the map smaller (tiled)
FIX: Due once Rhino releases SR7
Thanks for the help...

Do you have SLI Disabled? Also, have you run GPU-Z to check your card temp?

Correct, Paul. It was a temp issue. I had managed to (accidentally) manually override the fan controls with MSI Afterburner. It seems a strange thing with the program that if you close the program it just stops regulating the fans entirely!
I presume that was the entire issue, though will let you know if anything else persists. Thanks!
As a side note, when rendering animations I always have a 1px black line at the bottom, which doesn't show in the OctaneRender viewport, despite having the resolution of the viewport matched with the resolution in the settings for rendering in Rhino options.. This isn't the biggest of issues, just a little annoying.

I will have a look at this. Most likely caused by a resolution mismatch between the Rhino render window and Octane. This is all changed in the next version of the plugin.

Fixed all GPU problems, still having issues with animation rendering stopping (no more double frames though).
In this scene there are about 300,000 scatters, maybe somehow related?
In a 800 frame sequence it has stopped about 4 times; and this across 2 unrelated scenes - though both have a great deal of scattered fauna.
Not sure why.

Is it viable to get one of the scenes to me (even if it has no texturemaps that would be ok)?
Have you tried de-clocking your card a little?
After it fails, have you checked the Cuda Errors in the Cuda tab?

Hi Paul,
Been testing block instances set up in the following way;
Primary solids have materials applied at object level. Then blocks created and block instances created.
When I fire up Octane the block geometry loads but no materials?
Do the materials need to be at the layer level before creating the block?

Sorry for the delay on getting back to you on this...
Yes, it looks like the block definition object needs to have it's material assign by Object rather than by Layer prior to being defined as the block instance. If you do it after the block instance has been defined, I think Rhino is setting the material of all the instances rather than the block definition (so the plugin is picking up the wrong Rhino material). I will report this to McNeel.
The way this works will change with the next release of the plugin (due as soon as SR7 is available) were Octane Materials are a type of Rhino material.
