Well. I'm Trying to finish a character. I have sculpted it in Sculptris, and now i'm finishing retopo for rigging and animating. The animation that I have planned is very easy. I have textures semi finished and trying to make a fluid simulation in blender for combining. I have no idea if I'll finish it before the deadline, but now on I think it will be very difficult for me to achieve it.
I'm trying I'm trying ....I need holidays :?

I've just finished 20 sec animation of my character and I'm in rendering phase now. I still can't figure out - how much time does it take because different shots have very different rendertime. Now I have 2h10min per frame for close up shots with glass , but I hope rendertime will reduce for other shots. I think I'll be able to finish my work right in time.

Hi guys,

Due to my operation at the hospital and slow recovery, we've decided to slightly alter the plan:

- we will release the beta 2.2b version monday next week. (that's the 30'th)
- we will prolongue the animation challenge with one week so people can configure projects with 2.2 and render the final animations with turntable or daylight during that extended week with the 2.2b version that fixes these problems. (the intermediate frame sampling level issues)

everyone ok with that ?

Radiance, I hope you get better soon.

The 2.2b will have some change from the loading dialogues? I mentioned some time ago, and is rather annoying to be working and suddenly a octane dialog steal the focus. In addition, the texture load have cancel button and if you'd just press intro ......
In short, if it can be perfect, otherwise I will continue as before.

A week for me is fine, that enable me to render a little more relaxed.

Cheers

Yay an additional week. I was about to resign from the comp because I had issues with my animation and it is going to take a few extra days to work it out before I can get into rendering, so this helps a lot. I hope that this will help more people get involved in the competition. Hope you get better soon.

@Radiance: take care of you.

That's ok for me, but I haven't done a lot more for this competition due to lack of time and problems with my Windows 7 Pro 64 install. Most of my post production tools, like video editor and sound softwares seem to be not compatible or only in 32 bits mode, so I will not benefit of the added memory. I still have many softwares to install and very few time. Fortunately, Octane works !
