When trying to run the bench on 290X: 'nvcuda.dll is missing'

AMD can't run it. I guess someone figure out how to submit results (remember there's no login on this benchmark tool, anyone can send fake stuff once you just do what the tool does).

consider this as a case: Devs are sitting in OTOY's office & laughing while drinking beer, making fun of some reactions.. =DDD

yeah that's my best guess too =)

You are right. I think the benchmark software shall be available to registered users only.

They probably have to do that at the end ... or the same stuff happens as with all benchmark lists: all the E-peening starts and you get no good results anymore. Also, you need to catch more details ... like how many MHz did the card run at. Just "780" means not much if it is at 850 Mhz once and at 1200 MHz with the other.

That's what I asked Marcus right at the beginning - some core clocks and other info would be very useful.

Y, (WH)Y, WHY

But what if the next tech/financial headline read, "Nvidia Secretly Acquired AMD And Now Has CUDArized The First AMD 290X, Enabling It To Achieve The Highest Octane Benchmark Scores" and, further, the story read:

"Inhale deeply for Nvidia is now smoking the bottom of its alphabet bowl. Starting in April 2014 we witnessed the introduction of the outrageously, introductorily overpriced, 'GTX Titan Z.' Then, in late winter 2015, knowing what would be the real shocker announced at its next GPU Conference, Nvidia backed off having initially in the moniker of the GTX Titan Z's successor's name the letter 'Y,' and coyly called it temporarily the 'GTX Titan X.' Now it seems that the X factor baited the fish well, for Nvidia knew that using the letter 'X' in the name would wet the appetites of many, for the letter X evokes thoughts of mystery. Gleefully, next Nvidia pulled off the most cunning and secretive purchase of them all by acquiring AMD. This acquisition has enabled Nvidia to unveil at its 2015 GPU Conference the true successor to the Titan Z - the Titan (WH)Y - thus, maintaining the sanity of those gamers who know the true order of the alphabets backwards. The Titan Y is a CUDArized 24,000 core dual GPU (FatNextWell processors) video card. It sports 256G of Vram for each of its two mammoth FatNextWell processors, and is said to support up to 16K video. Titan Y represents Nvidia first factory underclocked GTX card, running at only 50% of what could otherwise be it's full base speed, with a then underclocked boost clock of 3,000 MHz. These 8 nanometer process processors have lots of potential capacity, but it comes at a high operational price. This reporter asked a seemingly reliable, but un-named Nvidia source, 'Y did Nvidia underclock it.' The source responded, 'Running each of this Y's GPU processors at their fully capable speed of 5,000 MHz would require 8,000 watts of power and a two ton air-conditioner just to cool the darn GPUs, not to mention the wattage and cooling necessary to support their then 6,000 MHz boost clock.' This response from the source left this reporter scratching his head as this reporter left Nvidia's San Francisco offices, asking himself over and over again, 'Y, (WH)Y, WHY- would anyone do that?' Then, sparked by knowledge derived from this reporter's passionate hobby - creating 3d art using software named, 'Octane Render' - the answer became obvious: to allow a certain Gen Y member on Nvidia's staff to post ridiculously high scores for Octane Benchmark."

Perhaps that first benchmark is the first part of the announcement by Otoy: "OpenCL is here...". That would be interesting indeed.
