.
Yes, Iray doesn't have hair primitives, but it supports hair in geometry mode (I tried to explain the "geometry mode" to you, but I guess you didn't read). Also Corona renders hair in geometry mode. It's not true hair support, but it's a workaround that I can accept. It's better than nothing.
I don't own Vray.
Ps. There really is no need to be so arrogant. Let's try to keep it on professional level. I think I pointed out some valid options. Try to understand me too. I'm building my business on top of Octane and you're the only person behind Max plugin. I have to push the things I need.

I am asking you again
Do you have any particular wishes or bug reports?
What are you complaining to?
Doesn't something work what you really need for your job?

Karba wrote:mykola1985 wrote:Karba, please contact Autodesk for help. Hair is an important feature... I'm sure you will make it work soon

What exactly do you need?
Separate tip and root colors is not supported by octane itself, it is not plugin fault.
Regarding all other feature - it depends on how fast Autodesk will provide me with proper info. I don't have any psychic power.
I hope it is clear. To be honest, it becomes too annoying to excuses to every user and explain why it is so.
If somebody can't live without hairs, use Ornatrix or Hair Farm. This is not an advertisement. But they have provided me with perfect hair api just in a wink.
I asked at least 2 times if Octane supports tip and root colors. Now I know it doesn't. Thank you very much for the answer.
You contacted Autodesk? Excellent !
That's the info that would have calmed down the audience. That standard hair is not off the list, but is still being worked on.
In the mean time could you see if you can add hair support in geometry mode like iRay does it?
