I /think/ this is related to the change I made where the "Load Image" dialog automatically pops up when you select an image node type - and is specific to Win 8 (something to do with the File Open common control on Win 8). I'll need to do some more analysis. For the time being, close the Viewport prior to setting the node to "image" and loading the file (since it is only an issue of the Viewport is open).

I have updated the installers at the top of this thread with the following:
1.20.2.6
- Fixed issue on Windows 8 when loading images for emission nodes
- Changed Material tab menu wording "Reimport" to "Reconvert materials"
- Added Animation option to reconvert all materials each frame. This means you can animate materials by keyframing the Poser material.
- Fixed exception raised if starting an animation whilst the Viewport is already open
- When converting a Poser material, if the same texturemap is used for the material diffuse AND bump, the Octane bump node will be an "image" rather than "floatimage" node, to save on texturemap slots

Thanks for the bug report Deane.
I update updated the installers are the top of this thread to rectify this problem.

Hi,
thank you very much! I appreciate these new features! Especially also the LDR greyscale texture saving will be very convenient, this was the limiting factor for some conversions.

Quick note to say, pls avoid installing Nvidia driver version 331.65. Otoy have reported that there are issues with this release for some installations. 327.23 is the preferred driver release.

So I guess version 331.65 is ok... since Octane works fine.
