Hi guys,
we're working on it.
2.3 is not just area lights and MLT but many more things that will be very helpfull.
a lot of these things are new to GPUs so they aren't textbook implementations, we need some time and my sickness has set us back a bit.

I too hate going back to mental ray to do things and I have been using it for 10 years.

hehehe, it was a little white lie (and it had some truth) plus I gave it straight faced

, so he believed me, besides I'm certain It will look better, it's just the usual problem, the client usually doesn't know what's best for him

. And I get head aches too just to think about "gathering nonsense" and lightcache and stuff like that, and those times.... wow... no, no way back. Besides with the time I was given I should have handed him a crayon painting with a stick figure giving them the finger, so its Octane or nothing.

You're wrong, it is besides area lights and a lot of more stuff to do.
