Ah, okay. Thank You.
But however, can You please always link the correct version? I am not an every day Octane user and I have to spent a lot of time to figure out the correct version and where to download. And after installing it will not run. So I have to investigate where exactly the problem is. Updating is always a big issue for me! And a link to all corresponding versions would be a great help for me (and other users too, I think). Just download and install.

I'm sorry - but I have tried this in the past and it created a lot of confusion for users due to me not keeping the links to the appropriate Octane Standalone version up to date. The current method of listing the Octane Version in the release notes is a more reliable and robust method.

Hmm, okay. I downloaded the Octane Modo plugin
3.07.0.125. And I can’t find a version
3.07.0 of the Modo plugin.
And I can only find a standalone Octane version
3.07.0. A standalone version
3.07.0.125 of Octane is not available.
3.07.0.125 is not exactly 3.07.0!
Modo Plugin: 3.07.0
.125
Standalone: 3.07.0
This does not match exactly!

Now, how can I match this exactly?

Hey there,
maybe i don't understand your problem exactly. But the Release Notes say:
3.07.0.125 (3-Nov-2017)
- Built with Octane 3.07
The Modo Plugin is build with the Octane version 3.07 and the Plugin Version is 0.125 (please correct me if i'm wrong). So the corresponding Standalone Version is 3.07.
So it's possible to have multiple Modoplugins which are build with the same Octane Standalone Version (for example to correct non octane related issues).

Perhaps I have an other understanding of the word „exact“. „Exact“ means exactly and not almost exactly.
Exact means correct in every detail.

ok, another try:
There are 3 kinds of Software involved:
Modo, Octane and the Plugin which connects both. Modo has a Software Version (11.2, 11.11, 10.2 etc.). Octane has a Version (3.07, 3.06, 3.05). The Plugin has a Version (0.123, 0.124, 0.125). So the Pluginversion has nothing to do with the Octane Version. You need the Octaneversion the Plugin is build with.
So when the Release Note say:
3.07.0.125 (3-Nov-2017)
- Built with Octane 3.07
You need to install Standalone Version 3.07 to make Network Rendering work.
Again please correct me if i'm wrong on this.

Okay, but then it’s not „exact“ the version. Then there are two versions, an Octane engine version and an plugin version.
In autumn last year I tried to install a newer version, because I thought it is as you say. But I was not able to get this running.
So I spent a whole day in trying anything to get this running, without success. At the end, I returned to my previous version.

I have updated the TEST release at the top of this thread with:
3.08.0.127 (7-Mar-2018)
- Compiled with Octane 3.08 RC1
- Resolved issue where the Modo FOV was not being taking into account when camera projections with film offsets
- Resolved issue there animated curves were not rendering
- Resolved issue where the physical sun was not being set in the Octane Environment node after frame 0 when rendering an animation
- Added Toon Light controls to the Light package
This is Windows-only at this stage. I will add OSX and Linux builds once they are released by OTOY.
